It’s not every day that two former lovers, now leading separate lives, are seen sharing a quiet, genuine moment — but that’s exactly what happened when Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were spotted together at the Mumbai airport on Saturday. And as expected, the internet took notice.
Fresh from their respective engagements in Delhi, the two actors returned to Mumbai on the same flight. As they walked out of the airport terminal, chatting casually and pointing toward each other’s cars, the comfort between them was hard to miss.
Before heading to her vehicle, Deepika leaned in to give Ranbir a warm hug — a brief, sweet gesture that quickly went viral.
Deepika looked graceful in an off-white traditional suit, while Ranbir kept things effortlessly cool in a white tee, brown jacket, black jeans and dark sunglasses. Both stars seemed relaxed and at ease — a rare sight, given their public history.
Fans online were quick to react. “They still look good together,” one person wrote, echoing a sentiment many shared. Another questioned, “Is it a PR stunt or a coincidence? They left and came back together?”
Others wondered if they’d attended the same event or if something more was brewing. One comment summed it up: “This looks odd. Suddenly, they are all mushy mushy, together throughout the day. What’s going on?”
Earlier that day, the two had already shared a friendly moment. Ranbir, dressed in all black and wearing a cap, had just arrived at the airport when he spotted Deepika sitting in an electric shuttle. He waved. She saw him, stopped the cart, and they greeted each other with a hug before continuing together.
Ranbir was in Delhi to launch his lifestyle brand, ARKS, a dream he says he’s finally fulfilled. “Launching a lifestyle brand was my dream, and I have finally fulfilled it. I also have a dream to direct a film. Maybe someday I'll direct a film,” he said. He even joined fans in singing and re-enacted some of his most iconic film dialogues.
Despite their past, Deepika and Ranbir have always shared mutual respect — both personally and professionally. After their breakup in 2010, they continued to work together in hits like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Tamasha, much to fans’ delight.
Now, they’ve each built their own lives. Deepika is married to Ranveer Singh and is a new mum to baby girl Dua. Ranbir tied the knot with Alia Bhatt in 2022, and the couple have a daughter, Raha.
