The trailer for Phule, a biographical drama about the lives of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and his wife, Savitribai Phule, has been released, and it has generated great excitement. Directed by Ananth Mahadevan, the film stars Pratik Gandhi as Jyotirao Phule and Patralekhaa as Savitribai Phule. The movie offers a powerful glimpse into the challenges the Phules faced as they fought for social justice, women’s education, and the rights of Dalits and widows in 19th-century Maharashtra.

Scheduled for release on April 11, 2025, which coincides with Jyotirao Phule's birth anniversary, the film highlights their tireless work against the oppressive social systems of their time. The trailer vividly portrays the intense opposition the Phules faced as they pushed for education for women and marginalized communities. Through strong dialogues and dramatic moments, it shows their courage in standing up against a society that tried to restrict access to dignity and education for the lower castes.

Pratik Gandhi, who plays Jyotirao Phule, expressed how privileged he felt to portray such an iconic figure. He described the role as a chance to experience the immense struggle and resistance that Phule faced while challenging the deeply rooted caste system.

Patralekhaa, who plays Savitribai Phule, expressed admiration for the pioneering work done by the couple. She emphasized that while Jyotirao Phule's contributions are well-known, Savitribai’s role in shaping modern education and promoting gender equality is often overlooked.

Phule is produced by Dancing Shiva Films and Kingsmen Productions and will be released by Zee Studios on April 11, 2025.
