Netflix has unveiled an engrossing teaser trailer for the highly anticipated third and final season of Squid Game, which gives viewers a preview of the series' dramatic ending.
Since Season 2's release in December 2024, Squid Game has maintained its position as Netflix's most-watched program. The season was immediately added to the Most Popular Non-English TV list and broke multiple records, including the record for the most views during a show's premiere week.
With 192.6 million views, it is currently in second place, only surpassed by Season 1's 265.2 million. The franchise's widespread appeal was further demonstrated when Season 2 became Netflix's third-most-watched season ever.
The new season, which picks up where Season 2 left off, throws Gi-hun (Player 456) back into the harsh world of the games. Gi-hun, who is still in shock over the loss and betrayal of his closest ally, Jung-bae (Player 390), is determined to put an end to the deadly competition once and for all. The Front Man, who entered their rebellion under the guise of Player 001, is one of the new threats he must now contend with.
The newly released teaser opens with pink guards transporting a black box—used to hold the bodies of eliminated players—into the resting area of the games. Players anxiously open the box to reveal Gi-hun inside, who awakens to find himself once again caught in the horrific cycle of the games. A giant gumball machine dispenses red and blue balls, each representing a player’s fate and determining the next challenge. Familiar faces return, including the Front Man, detective Hwang Jun-ho, and various players such as Myung-gi (Player 333), Dae-ho (Player 388), and others. The tension builds as the teaser ends with the eerie cry of a baby, hinting at an unsettling twist.

In the final teaser art, Gi-hun stands surrounded by black boxes tied with pink ribbons, looking up with a sense of resolve. What lies ahead for him and the other players as they navigate the sinister game? Fans won’t have to wait long to find out, as Squid Game Season 3 premieres on 27 June exclusively on Netflix.
