Lady Gaga has postponed her Miami concert just hours before showtime, citing medical concerns over the risk of permanent vocal damage. The pop superstar was set to perform Tuesday night at the Kaseya Center as part of her high-energy Mayhem Ball Tour, but doctors and her vocal coach advised against it after she experienced severe strain during rehearsals.
“Hi everyone I am really so so sorry but I need to postpone tonight’s show in Miami,” Gaga shared in an Instagram Story. “During rehearsal last night and my vocal warmup tonight my voice was extremely strained and both my [doctor] and vocal coach have advised me not to go on because of the risk it poses.”
The Grammy and Oscar-winning artist emphasized the difficulty of the decision, acknowledging the disappointment for fans. “I want to be hardcore and just push through this for you but I don’t want to risk long term or permanent damage on my vocal chords. There is a significant risk based on all our combined experience with a show like ours and as you know I sing live every night,” she explained. “Even though this was a hard and agonizing decision I would be more afraid of the long term implications on my voice.”
The singer, known for her powerful live vocals and elaborate productions, stressed her commitment to her fans and her health. “I tried so hard to avoid this. I take serious care of myself to be able to put on this highly demanding show. I love my fans so much. Respect you and hope you can accept my sincere regretful apology. We are trying to reschedule the show as quickly as possible.”

The Miami show would have marked her third consecutive performance at the Kaseya Center, following Sunday and Monday’s sold-out concerts. The tour, which launched in July to support her seventh studio album, is slated to continue with back-to-back dates at Madison Square Garden on September 6 and 7, though it remains uncertain whether she will be ready to return by then.
Vocal strain is a frequent obstacle for touring artists, with stars like Adele, Shakira, and Ariana Grande previously canceling shows to protect their voices.
Despite the setback, Gaga’s momentum remains strong. Earlier today, she released her haunting new single The Dead Dance alongside a Tim Burton-directed music video, fueling anticipation for her cameo in Netflix’s Wednesday Season 2. She is also confirmed to perform at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards, joining a lineup that includes Doja Cat and Sabrina Carpenter.
