De De Pyaar De 2 has made a promising start at the box office and has managed to collect Rs 8.50 crore India net on its opening day.
The films that stars Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, and R. Madhavan in the lead roles had a decent buzz leading up to its release, and the Day 1 figures show a solid beginning for the franchise.
De De Pyaar De 2 is directed by Anshul Sharma and produced by T-Series and Luv Films.
The movie also features Ishita Dutta, Meezaan Jaffrey, Javed Jaffrey, and Gautami Kapoor in pivotal roles.
The film has a mix of romance, humour, and family drama. The sequel to the hit 2019 movie is expected to draw audiences over the weekend, especially families.
R Madhavan and Rakul are receiving raves reviews for their performance in the movie.
If we take a look at the collections then the Hindi (2D) version of De De Pyaar De 2 saw an overall occupancy of 14.05% on Friday, November 14. While the morning shows opened on a modest note at 7.46%, collections picked up gradually:
Afternoon: 10.66%
Evening: 12.80%
Night: 25.26%
Mumbai (16%), NCR (14.50%), and Bengaluru (19.25%) recorded respectable footfalls
With Rs 8.50 crore already in the kitty, De De Pyaar De 2 has laid down a solid platform for the weekend.
As fans of Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet and Madhavan revisit the franchise, De De Pyaar De 2 looks set for a favourable first weekend run.
Moneycontrol, in the review, wrote that De De Pyaar De 2 “leans into its strengths, witty exchanges, sharp situational humour, and the undeniable charm of its leads.”
The reviewer also noted that “Ajay Devgn brings a grounded maturity to the role, while Rakul Preet Singh continues to impress with her effortless screen presence. R. Madhavan’s entry adds a fresh dynamic that keeps the narrative engaging.”
