Rohit Shetty asks wether paps have left Dharamendra's residence

Rohit Shetty recently found himself stepping in on behalf of the Deol family, gently urging the paparazzi to give veteran actor Dharmendra some breathing room.

While chatting with photographers on the sets of Bigg Boss 19, the filmmaker asked if they had finally cleared the area outside Dharmendra’s Mumbai home. “Arey pehle tum Dharam ji ke yahan se hate ya nahi?” he said, to which one of the photographers replied that they were no longer stationed there.

His concern echoed the growing unease within the family as the actor recovers from a recent health scare.

This moment came shortly after a visibly upset Sunny Deol had confronted the media outside their residence. On Thursday morning, overwhelmed by the chaos created by cameras and crowding, Sunny stepped out and let his emotions show. Folding his hands, he addressed the paparazzi directly: “Aap logon ko sharam aani chahiye, aapke ghar mein ma-baap hai. Aapke bachche hain, sharam nahi aati?”

Dharmendra, now 89, had been admitted to hospital after experiencing age-related health issues, including breathlessness.

During his stay, shocking and false rumours about his death spread rapidly across social media, adding unnecessary distress for the family. Both Hema Malini and Esha Deol stepped in on 11 November to clarify that the actor was very much alive and recovering.

After several days of treatment, Dharmendra was finally discharged on the morning of 12 November. Soon after, the Deol family issued a heartfelt statement requesting privacy and expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support.

We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time. We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you.”

For the unaware, Rohit Shetty will stepping in the shoes of Salman Khan and will taking on the host duties for Weekend Ka Vaar on the sets of Bigg Boss 19 for this weekend.
