Kangana Ranaut has shared an exciting update regarding her much-anticipated film Emergency. After encountering multiple delays and controversies, the film has finally obtained its certification, and the official release date will be announced soon. Originally slated for release on September 6, Emergency faced postponement due to various legal and controversy-related issues.
Taking to Instagram, Kangana expressed her gratitude to fans for their patience and support, revealing, “We have received the certificate for our movie Emergency, we will be announcing the release date soon.” Kangana, who both directs and stars in the film, had a major setback when the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) delayed the film’s clearance, prompting her to criticize the board publicly, calling the delay “illegal.”

Taking to X (formally Twitter) as well, she tweeted, "We are glad to announce we have received the censor certificate for our movie Emergency, we will be announcing the release date soon. Thank you for your patience and support."

In a previous interview, Kangana expressed her frustration, stating, “It’s getting too late. I hope the film comes on time. Otherwise, I am determined to fight for it. I am determined to even go to court to protect my film. You can’t change history and scare us by threats.”
Emergency explores one of the most turbulent periods in India’s political history, focusing on the events during the Emergency declared by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the 1980s.

Kangana takes on the role of Indira Gandhi, while the film boasts a stellar cast that includes Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, and Shreyas Talpade. Anupam Kher plays political leader Jayaprakash Narayan, and Shreyas Talpade portrays former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Additionally, the late Satish Kaushik, in one of his final roles, will be seen as Jagjivan Ram, the former Deputy Prime Minister of India.
With a powerful ensemble cast and Kangana Ranaut’s direction, Emergency promises to be an intense and gripping political drama that revisits a crucial chapter in India’s history.
