Emraan Hashmi is all set to return to the big screen with the highly anticipated action thriller Ground Zero. The makers have created enough buzz among the fans with the first look, posters and the thrilling trailer.
However, the upcoming film has just increased the excitement of the audience with an update on the film’s red carpet premiere. Ground Zero will notably make history by becoming the first film in 38 years to have a red carpet premiere in Srinagar, Kashmir.
The red carpet event is scheduled to be held on Friday, April 18. Interestingly, no other films have previously held any red carpet premiere in Srinagar in the last 38 years.
However, Ground Zero explores patriotism, and the makers wanted to show the film first to the Army officers standing on the line of defence.
Ground Zero has been receiving a lot of love from the audience, and the excitement around its release is palpable. Endorsed by the BSF, the film’s trailer was also well-received and further fueled the audience’s anticipation.
The upcoming film is set and shot in Kashmir and is inspired by the true story of BSF Commandant Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, played by Emraan Hashmi, and his operation to execute Ghazi Baba. This mission was recognized as one of the best operations of the BSF in the past 50 years. The movie sheds light on a lesser-known chapter in Indian history.

For the unversed, Ghazi Baba was a top-ranking commander of Jaish-e-Mohammed and the deputy commander of the militant group Harkat-ul-Ansar. He was the masterminded of the Indian Parliament attack on December 13, 2001.
Ground Zero is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani & Farhan Akhtar under the Excel Entertainment Production banner. The film is co-produced by Kassim Jagmagia, Vishal Ramchandani, Sundeep C Sidhwani, Arhan Bagati, Talisman Films, Abhishek Kumar, and Nishikant Roy.
Directed by Tejas Deoskar, the film features an ensemble cast including Sai Tamhankar, Zoya Hussain and Lalit Prabhaka.
Ground Zero will premiere in theatres on April 25, 2025.
