Navratri 2025 Day 3: On the third day of Navratri, devotees worship Maa Chandraghanta, the married form of Goddess Parvati. This divine form is believed to bless her devotees with peace, strength and protection. The Navratri Day 3 colour is Royal Blue, a shade that represents richness, tranquillity and elegance. Devotees are encouraged to wear Royal Blue on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, to attract the Goddess’s blessings.

Origin of Maa Chandraghanta

After her marriage to Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati adorned her forehead with a half-moon shaped like a bell (Ghanta). This gave her the name Chandraghanta. In this form, she represents grace, courage, and the power to destroy evil while also blessing devotees with compassion.

  • The divine sound of the bell on her forehead is believed to ward off all negative energies and spirits.

Significance of Maa Chandraghanta

Maa Chandraghanta embodies courage and serenity. She is both a fierce warrior and a gentle motherly figure who removes fears, bestows prosperity, and ensures the welfare of her devotees.

ॐ देवी चन्द्रघण्टायै नमः॥
Om Devi Chandraghantayai Namah॥

Chanting this mantra during Navratri Tritiya brings inner strength and divine blessings.

पिण्डज प्रवरारूढा चण्डकोपास्त्रकैर्युता।
प्रसादं तनुते मह्यम् चन्द्रघण्टेति विश्रुता॥

Pindaja Pravararudha Chandakopastrakairyuta। Prasadam Tanute Mahyam Chandraghanteti Vishruta॥

This prayer invokes her blessings for peace, prosperity, and protection.
