Comet C/2025 R2 will dazzle the night sky in October – Here is how to see it

Comet C/2025 R2 (SWAN), a comet that has just been discovered can be seen by astronomers in October. The comet was discovered on by Ukrainian, amateur astronomer Vladimir Bezugly. This comet is rapidly becoming brighter. It will be seen on October 21, when it comes to the surface of the Earth.

When and Where to See It?

Comet SWAN is also seen best in the evening sky during the months of October. It is best noticed soon after sunset when it is lowered down on the south-southwest.

The comet was placed within the eastern half of the Serpens Constellation at the 5-degree mark to the left of the star named Xi Serpentis, on October 16. This comet will make its closest approach to Earth later this month on October 21.

What Makes It Shine?

The heat causes the frozen layer in the nucleus to subliminate Comet SWAN into a gas as the gas directly shifts to a gas. This effect produces a dust and gas tail and a glow of sunlight which forms the typical comet glow, a coma. The resultant cosmic scene should be visible on earth as long as there is no weather interference.

To have a better viewing of this comet, Comet C/2025 R2 (SWAN) can be found in the evening sky throughout October and is best spotted in the hours following sunset.
