According to data from Downdetector, user complaints surged sharply in the afternoon, indicating a major service disruption rather than isolated accounts or regional network failures. The outage coincides with the ongoing AWS incident in the US-East-1 region, which has already impacted several applications and cloud-integrated services.

Key problems faced by users

The majority of reports on Downdetector are linked to login failures, accounting for more than 90 percent of complaints. Remaining reports indicate issues with feed loading and media uploads. Users on Android, iOS and desktop platforms are facing unresponsive timelines, failed authentication attempts, and broken media loading. The outage appears to be global in nature, with complaints emerging simultaneously from multiple countries according to Downdetector’s heat map.
