Speaking to Raj Shamani on his podcast, Arjun revealed that his personal experiences, including his mother’s death and his parents’ separation, have shaped his outlook on relationships.

Arjun Kapoor recently spoke about his decision to support his ex-partner, Malaika Arora, following the death of her father, Anil Mehta. Despite their breakup, Arjun was one of the first to reach Malaika’s maternal home to offer his condolences and support to her family. He stated that he wanted to honour the emotional bond they shared and reflected on how his past experiences have influenced his approach to relationships.

Speaking to Raj Shamani on his podcast, Arjun revealed that his personal experiences, including his mother’s death and his parents’ separation, have shaped his outlook on relationships. He admitted to entering relationships with the assumption that they may not last. Arjun explained that he has been through many "ups and downs" in his personal life recently, and one can never be sure if the "right" person will remain so in the long run.

When asked about his decision to support Malaika during her difficult time, Arjun cited an instinctual impulse, similar to the one he experienced when his father’s wife, Sridevi, passed away in 2018. He emphasised that he always tries to be there for people with whom he has an emotional bond, regardless of whether it is during good times or bad.

Arjun said, "When what happened with dad and Khushi-Janhvi, there was an impulse. And in this case also, there was an instinct and impulse. If I’ve formed an emotional bond with somebody, I would always like to believe that I will be there regardless of the good and the bad. If I’m invited for the good, I will be there. And if I’m needed for the bad, I will be there. I’m not somebody who has a lot of friends, I’m not doing this for all and sundry. If that person doesn’t want me there, I’ll maintain a distance, as I have in the past."

Arjun also discussed the challenges of maintaining privacy in relationships in the current media environment. He noted that while he is a private person, it is often wise to be open about relationships to avoid speculation and misconceptions. He mentioned that he was initially hesitant to join social media but was encouraged by his peers to do so.

Arjun had confirmed his breakup with Malaika during an event promoting his film Singham Again, stating that he is currently single.
