Arjun Kapoor praises Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis, calls it “A story worthy of the big screen”

Arjun Kapoor has always been one to celebrate good cinema, whether it’s his own project or someone else’s. The actor, last seen in Mere Husband Ki Biwi alongside Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh, is known for his candid opinions and genuine support for his colleagues. This time, his attention was caught by the trailer of Ikkis—Sriram Raghavan’s upcoming biographical war drama starring Agastya Nanda.

On October 29, the Ikkis trailer dropped and instantly grabbed industry attention for its striking visuals and emotional weight. Soon after, Arjun took to Instagram to share his admiration. Reposting Navya Naveli Nanda’s post about the film, he praised both the story and the filmmaker. Calling Raghavan “one of the finest makers of Hindi cinema,” Arjun wrote, “Mr Raghavan just entered new territory to tell a story worthy of the big screen.” He followed it up with an encouraging note for the team, saying, “All the best to the entire team at Maddock Films, cannot wait to see this story unfold on the big screen!!” He also had a special shoutout for Agastya, writing, “Aggy boy look at u go!!! Super stuff!!”

Other members of the film fraternity joined in the excitement. Shanaya Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan reshared the trailer, while Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey, and Neha Dhupia dropped comments showing their support. Since Agastya Nanda isn’t on social media, it was his sister Navya who posted the trailer on his behalf, captioning it, “Woh Ikkis Ka Tha, Ikkis Ka Hi Rahega! Dinesh Vijan and Maddock Films present Ikkis, an untold story of India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee – Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal.”

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, known for thrillers like Andhadhun, Badlapur, and Johnny Gaddaar, Ikkis marks his first venture into war drama. The film also features Simar Bhatia, making her debut, alongside Jaideep Ahlawat. For Agastya Nanda, it’s his second big-screen outing after The Archies.

Adding a heartfelt touch, Amitabh Bachchan also shared the trailer on X, expressing pride in his grandson: “You are SPECIAL… all my prayers and blessings to you… may you ever bring glory to your work and the greatest pride for the family.”
