The young Indian unit led by Shubman Gill secured a thrilling victory in the fifth Test against England on Monday, which helped them level the five-match series. The outcome saw cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli shower the squad with accolades.
India pacer Mohammed Siraj (5/104) was the most impressive performer, giving one of his best efforts under pressure. His 23 wicket total at the end of the series was the most for either team.
Before poor light and rain stopped play on the penultimate day, England were in a good position at 339/6 at Stumps, 35 runs away from the victory. On the last morning, though, India swiftly took the final four wickets to bowl out England for 367.
Tendulkar gave the squad a flawless score of ten for their performance. "Test cricket... absolute goosebumps. Series 2–2, Performance 10/10! SUPERMEN from INDIA! What a Win," Tendulkar posted on X.
