Mappls and Delhi Metro sign MoU to bring real-time metro information to MapmyIndia app

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has entered into a partnership with Mappls MapmyIndia, one of India’s leading digital mapping and geospatial technology companies, to integrate metro data directly into the Mappls app. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed on Friday, will allow more than 35 million users to access real-time metro information — including routes, fares, train frequencies, and travel times — across the Delhi-NCR network.

Through this collaboration, DMRC’s metro API will be integrated into the Mappls platform, enabling commuters to plan and navigate their journeys more efficiently. The move is part of DMRC’s broader vision to improve convenience and connectivity through technology.

Enhanced commuter experience
The partnership aims to make daily metro travel smarter, faster, and hassle-free. Once integrated, the Mappls app will allow users to view nearby metro stations, estimate fares, check line changes, and receive real-time train schedules within a single interface.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director, DMRC, said, “Delhi Metro is committed to enhancing commuter convenience through innovation and technology. Mappls’ vision for smarter mobility
Rakesh Verma, Co-Founder, Managing Director, and Group Chairman of MapmyIndia, stated, “Soon the DMRC data will get integrated into the multi-modal transport feature of the Mappls app, making travel across the Delhi NCR faster, smarter and seamless.”
He added that the MoU follows the recent announcement by Union Minister for Railways, Electronics & IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, regarding a forthcoming MoU between Indian Railways and Mappls MapmyIndia. “This is a strong step towards the signing of the MoU with the Indian Railways as envisaged by Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw. We are proud to be recognized as India’s premier location tech provider by some of the highest echelons in the Indian Government. Citizen engagement and safety
The initiative extends beyond navigation to promote transparency, accessibility, and citizen participation through the Mappls app’s Traffic and Public Engagement Platform. The app will allow users to report real-time civic and traffic issues — including congestion, parking challenges, accidents, or waterlogging — directly from their smartphones.
These citizen inputs will be instantly shared with relevant authorities, enabling faster responses and proactive traffic management. The integration will also enhance public safety by providing real-time alerts on road incidents and emergencies, supporting quicker response times and improving mobility across Delhi-NCR.

With this collaboration, DMRC and MapmyIndia are moving toward a digitally connected, commuter-first transport ecosystem — aligning with India’s broader vision of an Atmanirbhar, technologically empowered urban future.
