The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has issued a fresh set of guidelines under Unlock 5.0. The Centre has permitted opening up of more activities in areas outside the containment zones that include reopening of cinemas, theatres and multiplexes with up to 50 percent of their seating capacity from October 15.

A standard operating procedure (SOP) for the same will be issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
The MHA said that the new guidelines are based on feedback received from States and UTs, and extensive consultations held with related Central Ministries and Departments”.

However, some state, including Maharashtra, have said that cinema halls will not be reopened in the state till October 30, 2020.
Under the 5.0 guidelines, the Centre has also permitted social, religious and political gatherings beyond the limit of 100 persons. Business to Business (B2B) Exhibitions, swimming pools used for training of sportspersons, and reopening of entertainment parks and similar places will also be allowed to open from October 15.
