The high-voltage drama of the Asia Cup 2025 grand finale, which saw India clinch the title with two balls to spare, spilled over into the post-match proceedings and beyond.

After the Men in Blue chased down the target of 147, Suryakumar Yadav's side celebrated the victory without the silverware, as they refused to accept the trophy from PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi.

At the Dubai International Stadium, Team India was seen celebrating the win, with Yadav doing a mock victory run as if he were holding the Asia Cup.

Hours later, the winning captain took to X and mocked Pakistan. In his post, he shared an AI-generated picture of the trophy and captioned it: "When the game is done, only the champions will be remembered and not the picture of a trophy." Yadav had earlier announced that he would be donating his match fee to the Indian Army.

The entire tournament was marked by tense interactions between the arch-rivals. From refusing to shake hands to skipping the traditional pre-match photo-op with the trophy, Yadav and his team made several gestures that heightened the intensity of the summit clash.

This was also the first meeting between the two sides since the tensions of Operation Sindoor, when the nuclear-armed neighbours came to the brink of a full-blown war following the dastardly Pahalgam attack.
