With every Indian festival comes the opportunity to embrace tradition through style. If you are looking for trends that beautifully merge heritage with modernity, invest in stylish suits and Indian separates that are currently dominating the scene with a contemporary edge.

Modern silhouettes like asymmetrical hemlines and high-waisted skirts continue to gain traction, offering a refreshing twist on classic Indian styles. The mix-and-match trend allows for personalisation, blending traditional elements with contemporary flair. Co-ord sets also remain popular, providing both comfort and style, particularly for younger consumers.

Speaking about the latest designs and cuts, Shraddha Bindra, Creative Director at fashion label BIBA, sheds light on the Autumn-Winter festive collection for Indian women. “From bold dupattas and modern silhouettes to flared dresses and traditional salwar suits, this season is all about embracing the richness of Indian fashion while adding a fresh twist for the young, style-conscious buyer," she shares. "Fusion wear remains a favourite," she adds, pointing to some creative pairings, such as anarkali-style kurtas with palazzos.

A celebration of versatility:

"This festive season sees the return of statement anarkali lehenga sets, resplendent in festive hues like pink, yellow, and deep reds, adorned with gold embellishments. Statement looks are big this season," Bindra notes, referring to the timeless appeal of a simple anarkali paired with a bold, embellished dupatta. Tiered anarkali dresses with flared silhouettes are among the top picks for festive celebrations.

Tips to style Indian wear:

When it comes to styling Indian wear, the fashion expert emphasizes the importance of balancing tradition with modern sensibilities. "Fit and comfort are key factors for any occasion. A well-fitted outfit can make all the difference in how you carry yourself through the festivities. Layering is another styling trick that can instantly elevate an outfit. A beautifully embroidered dupatta or a chic jacket paired with a simple kurta can completely transform your look," adds Bindra.

Accessories, too, play a pivotal role in completing a festive ensemble. From statement jewellery to elegant bags, the right accessories can bring the entire look together. "But always remember to strike a balance—accessories should complement, not overpower your outfit,” says the expert.

As the season transitions to Autumn-Winter, investing in rich jewel tones and luxurious fabrics will ensure your festive wardrobe remains stylish and versatile. Shades of emerald green, deep blue, burgundy, and the evergreen red and yellow continue to dominate the festive palette. "Gold embellishments are a customer favourite, adding that fresh and vibrant festive touch to any outfit," informs Bindra.

Silk, crepe, and georgette bring out the vibrancy of the season, while cotton remains a go-to for everyday wear. Intricate prints and statement borders also take center stage this season, adding personality and texture to your festive attire. This festive season is all about embracing your personal style while staying true to traditional roots. Whether you’re layering up with bold accessories or stepping out in vibrant jewel tones, the key to standing out this season lies in effortless elegance.
