Dheeraj Kumar, actor, director and producer, died on Tuesday, July 15, leaving a significant void in the entertainment industry. He was suffering from acute respiratory distress and was taken to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in the Andheri region on Monday.
The veteran actor was diagnosed with acute pneumonia and was in the intensive care unit (ICU). The family is mourning the loss and has recently shared the details of his last journey and final rites.
Dheeraj Kumar’s last remains will be taken to his house at 6 am on Wednesday, July 16, from the hospital and will be kept for darshans at the below address till 10 am at the Sky Deck building, SAB TV lane near Shabri hotel, Andheri West. The veteran actor’s final rites will be performed at Pawan Hans cremation ground at 11 am.
The veteran actor’s family and production team confirmed the news of his hospitalisation in an official statement. They also revealed that he was being closely monitored by medical professionals and receiving all necessary treatment.

The statement reads, “The family requests prayers for his speedy recovery and urges everyone to respect their privacy during this difficult time.”
Dheeraj Kumar attended the opening of the ISKCON temple in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai, a few days prior to being admitted to the hospital.
For the unversed, Dheeraj Kumar's career spanned over five decades and has left a lasting impression on Indian television and film. He began his career in the 1960s and starred in a series of films like Raaton Ka Raja, Swami, and Heera Panna.
