John Abraham returns to the silver screen with his new film, The Diplomat. The film was released in the theatres on March 14 and has received positive reviews from the audience and critics a like. The film has also opened at the box office with decent collection.
According to Sacnilk reports, The Diplomat grossed Rs 4 crores in Indian as per early estimates on day 1. The movie is expected to earn more over the first weekend.
John Abraham's latest film has a clear advantage in theaters, thanks to a lack of strong competition from other movies. The actor is widely promoting his film on social media. He has also recently met the external affairs minister Dr S Jaishankar ahead of the release of his film.
The film is set against the backdrop of India–Pakistan relations. The movie is based on the true story of diplomat JP Singh, whose life changes when Uzma Ahmed, a woman seeking help, arrives at the embassy. She claims to be an Indian citizen who was kidnapped and forced to marry a Pakistani man. Singh must navigate the complexities of international politics, laws, and pressure from both Indian and Pakistani governments to resolve the sensitive situation.

The latest film is directed by Shivam Nair and is inspired by true events. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar (T-Series), Vipul D. Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl (Wakaoo Films), Sameer Dixit, Jatish Varma, and Rakesh Dang (Fortune Pictures/Seeta Films).
In addition to starring, John has also produced the film. The movie also stars Sadia Khateeb, Kumud Mishra, Sharib Hashmi and Revathy in the lead roles.
