Singer and songwriter Taylor Swift has recently won back all her master recordings of her first six albums from Shamrock Capital Advisors after a years-long ownership battle. However, Apple Music and Spotify have recently updated the copyrights to Taylor’s albums, creating a buzz among the Swifties.
Several social media users took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their excitement about the latest update. One person wrote, “With the latest Spotify update, Taylor Swift’s first 6 albums now credit their rightful owner across both Spotify and Apple Music.”

Apple Music and Spotify’s latest update came after Taylor Swift announced on her official website that she has finally won back the ownership of her entire music catalogue. The singer lost the rights to her music in 2019 when record label Big Machine sold them to music executive Scooter Braun.
The singer revealed that she had almost stopped thinking that she could ever win back the ownership, but her long-awaited dream came true.
For the unversed, Taylor has been entangled in a legal battle for the rights to her first six albums since 2019 when Scooter Braun acquired Big Machine, the label that signed Swift in 2005.
Following the public criticism, Braun sold her master recording rights to Shamrock in 2020, for more than $300 million—about the amount he had spent to acquire the entire label the year prior.
