Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan recently opened up about a shocking burglary attempt at his residence in Mumbai. While the incident left him with six injuries, what surprised many was his reaction - not of anger or fear but of pity towards his attacker.

During an interaction with Delhi Times, Saif explained that he does not feel the need to increase security or keep any weapons at home following the incident. According to him, the burglary attempt was not premeditated but rather an unfortunate event that spiraled out of control.

“Nothing will change. See, if you start doing that… because I don’t feel I’m under threat. It was not a premeditated attack. I think it was just a burglary attempt gone wrong. That poor guy, his life is more screwed than mine,” he said.

Recalling the Incident

Saif provided a detailed account of how the attack unfolded and how he instinctively responded to it. He described his initial reaction, explaining that rather than reacting in fear, his gut response was to reason with the attacker.

“I would put on the light and firstly tell him, ‘Do you know who I am?’ And I think he would say, ‘Oh st! I’m in the wrong house.’ And I’d say, ‘Right, put the knife down and let’s talk about this.’ I think I would have tried to reason. But it was a mixture of anger, outrage, and a kind of defense. It was just too quick. And it was completely instinctive.”

Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Reaction

While Saif tackled the attacker head-on, his wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, was understandably shaken by the ordeal. According to Saif, she immediately made frantic calls for help, trying to ensure the safety of their family.

“Kareena was in complete shock. She made multiple calls for help during the attack. But once the situation was under control, we quickly made decisions about what to do next.”

Kareena’s reaction was natural, given the terrifying nature of the break-in. Ensuring the safety of their children was her priority, and she acted swiftly.

The Aftermath: A Family’s Decision

Despite suffering six injuries, Saif chose to go to the hospital with his young son, Taimur Ali Khan, instead of immediately increasing security. Kareena, still distressed from the incident, decided to take their younger son, Jeh, and leave for her sister Karisma Kapoor’s house for added safety.

Their immediate decisions post-incident reflect how they prioritized their family’s well-being over anything else. However, despite concerns, Saif remains determined not to let this attack impact his way of life.

“Despite everything, I have no plans to take extreme security measures. I believe in living a normal, unrestricted lifestyle.”
