New poster of Rishab Shetty in 'The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj' unveiled

National Award winning actor Rishab Shetty unveiled the first poster of his much anticipate movie ‘The Pride of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’ today (February 19).

The Kantara actor released the poster on the 395th birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film is going to release on 21st January 2027.

This ambitious historical epic, poised to be one of India’s grandest productions, marking a global tribute to the warrior king, 'The Pride Of Bharat: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.'

In an interview with Times of India, Rishab Shetty had called it an 'honour' to play the historical figure and he also said it gives him ‘immense pride’ to bring his story to the screen.

Rishab had them told the publication that Shivaji's life and legacy had always fascinated him.

"Chhatrapati  Shivaji’s life and legacy have always fascinated me, and there is a deep sense of pride in being associated with such a great historical figure. Opportunities like biopics come only once in a lifetime. As an actor and a performer, I feel that it’s an honour to bring his story to life on the big screen," he had told TOI.

The film will have music by Pritam and lyrics by Prasoon Joshi, it is being directed by Sandeep Singh.

The movie's cinematography will be handled by Ravi Varman of Ram Leela, Barfi fame. Director of Sound & Acoustics: Resul Pookutty (The Goat Life, Slumdog Millionaire)

Rishab will also be seen in the role of Hanuman in Prasanth Varma’s Jai Hanuman, which is a sequel to his hit superhero film HanuMan. And Rishab is also directing and starring in the prequel to Kantara titled Kantara: Chapter 1. The movie is going to release later this year.
