Nagarjuna recalls confronting Nayanthara about her relationship with Simbu, saying, "Why are you doing this to yourself?’

'Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale' is a documentary that delves into the life of actress Nayanthara. The film features several actors sharing their experiences and connections with her.

Nagarjuna, who collaborated with Nayanthara on the Telugu film 'Boss', spoke about his first meeting with her and mentioned that she was facing challenges in her relationship with another actor at the time.

Although Nagarjuna did not reveal the name of the actor Nayanthara was dating, he described their relationship as "turbulent."

"When Nayan walked into the set, of course, she was beautiful, but there was an aura of royalty walking in. The warmth she spoke with, her genuine smile, I had this instant connection with her. This is a person I would like to be friends with," Nagarjuna recalled.

"I remember we were shooting in Switzerland; I think she was going through a very turbulent time in a relationship. We would all dread her phone ringing. If the phone rang, this girl’s mood would just come down. She would just turn off," the actor continued.

Nagarjuna also shared that he confronted Nayanthara about her relationship, saying, "I remember asking her, 'Why are you doing this to yourself? You’re an accomplished woman.'"

Nayanthara spoke about her first relationship, describing it as being built on "trust rather than love." She explained, "You just believe the other person is also in love with you. More than love, it’s trust. And you give it your all. But people assume a lot of things. It broke me when people created stories about it. Till today, no one has asked any of the boys what happened."

Her first relationship after entering cinema was with actor-filmmaker Silambarasan TR aka Simbu. A leaked private picture of the couple created a lot of controversy back then.

In 2008, Nayanthara joined the cast of 'Villu', her first collaboration with Vijay as the lead actress and her debut under actor-choreographer-director Prabhu Deva’s direction. During the film’s production, mutual feelings reportedly developed between Nayanthara and Prabhu Deva, sparking speculation about a possible marriage in 2009. However, complications arose as Prabhu Deva was still married to Latha, who strongly opposed their relationship and publicly expressed her disapproval.

Nayanthara has found herself at the center of a controversy after writing an open letter to Dhanush, accusing him of refusing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to use elements from their 2015 film 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan'. She revealed that during the production of her Netflix documentary, she sought Dhanush's permission to include visuals from the film. However, he allegedly ignored her request and instead issued a legal notice, demanding Rs. 10 crore in damages.

Nayanthara met her husband, Vignesh Shivan, during the making of 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan', a film produced by Dhanush. Vignesh not only directed the film but also wrote its script.
