'Pushpa 2' starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna is the most-awaited movie of 2024, and the fans have been waiting for its release for a long time. Now there is another good news for the 'Pushpa' fans.
Now there are reports that the movie, directed by Sukumar, has sold its theatrical rights in North India for a whopping Rs 200 crore.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, distributor Anil Thadani has acquired the theatrical rights of 'Pushpa 2' for Rs 200 crore. A source who had knowledge of this development told the website: “Pushpa 2 is the most-awaited Indian film of the year, and the records have come down crashing left, right, and centre as far as the pre-release business is concerned. Anil Thadani has paid Rs 200 crore (on an advance basis) to acquire the theatrical rights of this action-packed entertainer."
There have also been reports that Netflix has acquired the digital streaming rights to 'Pushpa 2' for a whopping Rs 100 crore.
There were reports that 'Pushpa 2' makers have demanded Rs 1,000 crore for the distribution across India, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
'Pushpa: The Rise', which had Allu Arjun in, became a phenomenal success, and its dialogue, 'Jhukega Nahi Sala', is a rage.
The film was written and directed by Sukumar. The makers had released the first teaser of 'Pushpa 2' recently, which saw Allu Arjun dressed in a very rudra roop sporting saree, beating up goons.
'Pushpa 2' will also see Rashmika Mandanna reprise her role as Pushpa's wife, Srivalli. Reports also suggest 'O o Antava' actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu might have another special dance number in the sequel too. Sanjay Dutt is also reportedly going to make a special appearance.
The movie will have its pan-India release on August 15.
