Popular singer and music composer Himesh Reshammiya recently shared his thoughts on Janhvi Kapoor's playful mimicry of him during her appearance on the famous talk show Koffee with Karan.

In the interview, Janhvi had remarked, "I am very intrigued by Himesh Reshammiya's Instagram, he is doing biceps and he is singing tandoori nights."

"It's the best thing in the world, I love it." She concluded.

Along with addressing the long-standing debate about his 'nasal singing' style, Himesh also reacted to the light-hearted jest from Janhvi Kapoor about his Instagram videos.

While talking to Pinkvilla the singer took it all in stride, expressing his gratitude that people continue to enjoy his past work. He fondly recalled the enduring popularity of his hit song Tandoori Nights, remarking, "Yes, I know. This is a very good thing. It has been so many years but the likeability of ‘Tandoori Nights’ remains. We have millions of views, the word ‘tandoori’ is very lucky for me.

The 51-year-old artist also shared his opinion on the ongoing criticism regarding his signature ‘nasal singing’ style, which has been the subject of much discussion over the years.

He confidently stated that he was the one to pioneer nasal singing in the industry, with many others following his lead.

Addressing the criticism directly, Reshammiya reflected, "Aaj toh nasal ki baat bhi nahi kar rahe hain (Nobody is making that criticism of my nasal singing these days)."

He went on to explain that many singers adopted nasal singing after him, and as a result, numerous hits from his catalog became incredibly popular. He acknowledged that while others might refer to it as nasal singing, he has always considered it a unique, high-pitched style that captured intense emotion.

Reshammiya elaborated on the emotional essence of his approach, explaining that his singing was more than just a style; it was a ‘cry for help’.

In the iconic 'Aashiq Banaya' video, he described the character he portrayed as one who is "crying in pain, singing, as well as dancing," reflecting the raw vulnerability in his performance.

His distinctive style, now widely recognised, was, in his view, an emotional expression rather than simply a technical choice.

Reshammiya, who was recently seen in Badass Ravikumar alongside Prabhudeva and Kirti Kulhari, continues to have a significant presence in the entertainment industry.

The film, known for its spoof humour and unpretentiousness, performed decently at the box office, further proving that his style and creativity still resonate with audiences. Despite the criticisms, Himesh Reshammiya remains an influential figure in the world of music and film, with his distinct voice and approach still commanding attention.
