Janhvi Kapoor opens up about her mother Sridevi's surprising wish for her

Filmmaker Karan Johar and Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapor join Kajol and Twinkle on Prime Video’s Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle. The rapid-fire banter, surprise reveals, and moments of genuine warmth on the showed moved from playful to deeply personal with absolute ease.

While playing ‘truth or lie,’ Janhvi challenged Karan to spill, “Tell us one scandalous truth about yourself and make up one lie, and we’ll guess which one is true.”

Karan replied with a playful smirk and stated, “I lost my virginity when I was 26 years old, and I’ve been intimately involved with a member of your family.”

The statement of the filmmaker shocked Janhvi and made Twinkle and Kajol burst out laughing as he immediately stated that he did in fact lose his virginity at the age of 26 and the latter was a lie stating, “I was late to that party and I have not been intimate with any member from your family. Though the thought has crossed my mind a couple of times.”

Moving further the hosts of the show then got Karan to rank Akshay, Ajay, and the Pahariya brothers on sex appeal. Janhvi tried to steer him, jokingly complimenting Shikhar and said, “Can I just say that Shikhar looks great riding a horse. I remember when Shikhar was playing polo and Ranveer was standing with me and he was like, ‘He looks great on a horse’. And I was like yeah.”

Karan couldn’t hold up adding his signature witty  humour and said, “I am trying to unsee Shikhar on this horse and rank in order of sex appeal – Akshay, Ajay, I would place the brothers at number 3. They have grown up in front of me, you know they are my neighbours, they live below my apartment.”

Janhvi further on the show admitted that her mother Sridevi never wanted her to act, while reflecting on her mother’s protectiveness while growing up, she stated, “We were giving everyone so much access. And at that point, mom was still very strict about  ‘I don't want you to be an actress.’ So she was like, ‘What’s the point? It's fine if people see her with body hair and two chotis and a mustache.’ It was just the worst combination of things specifically for me because my teenage years coincided with the onset of the social media boom.”

The actress  also shared a deeply personal poem for her mother, Sridevi, “Bachi thi phir achanak ek din woh haq kho diya, jo laad mangti thi usse muh mod liya, apni awaz kho ke apni maa ki awaz me baat karti hu, issi jariye me unke paas bhi rakhti hu”

While Karan shared as to how his own heartbreak inspired a line in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, “It’s about anyone with a broken heart. So it’s like I hope I say it right, ‘ Jab pyaar mein pyaar na ho jab dard mein yaar na ho. Jab aansu main muskaan na mo. Jab lafzon me zuban na ho. Jab saanse bas yuhi chale. Jab har din mein raat dhale. Jab intezar sirf waqt ka ho. Jab yaad uss kambakkht ki ho. Kyun main rahi jab woh hai kisi aur ki manzil. Dhadkano ne sath chhod diya Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’”.

This episode of Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle started with laughter, but ended with a lot of saucy confession.
