BTS member Jin has made waves with the release of his first solo album, Happy, with the title track Running Wild accompanied by a feel good music video. The video showcases Jin's journey to find joy and love amidst chaos, marking his first solo venture since his debut solo release, The Astronaut.
In Running Wild, Jin experiences a drastic shift in his life as sirens wail and explosions erupt around him. Despite the chaos, Jin remains composed, accompanied by his loyal pet dog—a recurring motif from The Astronaut.
The all-English song is a departure from Jin's previous Korean-language releases. The lyrics convey a powerful message to those grappling with life's struggles, emphasising the importance of finding happiness and love even in the most challenging times.
Throughout the video, Jin embarks on various adventures, including a serene beach day and a picturesque drive, embodying the pursuit of happiness through simple pleasures. A poignant moment unfolds as Jin watches a film titled The Last Day on Earth, during which he becomes visibly emotional, shedding tears as chaos ensues both on screen and in the cinema.
The video subtly nods to Jin's BTS roots, with fans noting the clever use of his birth date and the number 7—representing the seven BTS members—in the car's number plate in the teaser.
Running Wild is the leading track of Jin's six-song album Happy, which includes the pre-release single I'll Be There. The album features a diverse range of tracks, such as Another Level, Until It Reaches You, and Heart on the Window, the latter featuring a collaboration with Wendy from the girl group Red Velvet.
