Tata Motors has announced set of discounts and special offers for its existing and new buyers of electric vehicles after the carmaker’s EV sales crossed a milestone of 200,000, the company said in a statement on February 19.

The country’s top EV seller said it has launched a 45-day window during which customers can avail all the benefits worth up to Rs 1.86 lakh, the statement said.

The move comes amid the reports of global EV giant Tesla preparing for an April 2024 entry in India with two showrooms in Mumbai and Delhi and a likely manufacturing plant near Pune in Maharashtra.

    What are the benefits?

Under the new offers announced by the Tata group company, customers can avail exchange bonus of up to Rs 50,000 and 100 percent on-road finance options.

The company is also extending free charging benefit of 6 months an any of the Tata Power charging stations and a free installation of a 7.2 kW AC Fast home charger with the purchase of an EV.

Existing customers of Tata Motors can also claim a loyalty bonus of up to Rs 50,000 in addition to all the other benefits on the purchase of Nexon and Curvv EVs, the company statement said.

Vivek Srivatsa, chief commercial officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd, hoped that these benefits will help potential buyers become a loyal customer as the EV space in the country heats up. "By introducing these exclusive benefits, we welcome more customers to join us in this revolution and reaffirm our commitment to grow acceptance of EVs as a technology for a cleaner, greener tomorrow."

On February 20 at 2:25 pm, the shares of the automaker were trading at Rs 692.4, up 1.67  percent on NSE.
