MG Cyberster: From price to range, features and top speed, here is what the world's fastest MG offers

JSW MG Motor India has started its premium journey with two models -- MG M9 electric MPV and MG Cyberster electric roadster. Both cars are being offered by the MG Select dealerships. While MPVs are quite common in India, roadsters are something we do not see regularly. But with the arrival of the MG Cyberster, things are expected to change. Marketed as the "world's fastest MG", here is what it offers.

MG Cyberster Price

The Cyberster is available in India as a completely built unit (CBU). Even with relatively higher duties, it is priced at Rs 74.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Also, this price is for the fresh bookings. Those who pre-booked the electric car will get it for Rs 2.50 lakh lower at Rs 72.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

MG Cyberster Motor & Battery

The Cyberster features a dual-motor setup with one motor on each axle, giving it all-wheel-drive capability. Combined, the motors produce 510PS and 725Nm of torque, powered by a 77kWh battery that is just 110mm thick.

MG Cyberster Range, Acceleration & Top Speed

In performance terms, the Cyberster can sprint from 0 to 100kmph in 3.2 seconds when Launch Control mode is engaged, and it has a top speed of 200kmph. MG claims a range of 580km on a single charge as per the MIDC standard. When using a 144kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in 40 minutes. Both the pre-reservation and launch prices include the cost of a 3.3kW portable charger, a 7.4kW wall box charger and standard installation.

MG Cyberster Engineering

The design and engineering of the Cyberster focus on being both a true electric vehicle and a performance-oriented roadster. An advanced thermal management system has been incorporated for battery safety. Notably, the suspension and chassis have been developed with input from former Formula 1 engineer Marco Fainello. The car features a double wishbone suspension and maintains a balanced 50:50 weight distribution for responsive handling and comfort. Equipped with Brembo 4-piston front brake calipers, the Cyberster can decelerate from 100kmph to zero in just 33 metres.

In terms of styling, the Cyberster boasts a sculpted bonnet, convertible roof, and signature electric scissor doors, giving it a dynamic roadster presence. The front end is highlighted by LED headlamps and DRLs, while the rear features a full-width LED light bar with integrated indicators. The car is equipped with 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero tyres, and a drag coefficient of 0.269 Cd enhances its aerodynamic efficiency.

Buyers have four dual-tone exterior options to choose from: Nuclear Yellow with a Black roof, Flare Red with a Black roof, Andes Grey with a Red roof, and Modern Beige with a Red roof.

Inside, the Cyberster’s cabin features premium touches such as sustainable Dinamica suede and vegan leather upholstery. The driver-centric cockpit includes a triple-display layout, with a central 10.25-inch touchscreen and two 7-inch digital panels providing access to vehicle data and infotainment. Other notable features include dual-zone automatic climate control with PM2.5 filtration, a Bose audio system, and paddle shifters for regenerative braking, along with four driving modes: Comfort, Sport, Custom, and Super Sport.

MG cars in India are known for their technology, and the Cyberster continues this tradition. The model features a high-strength H-shaped full cradle structure and a Static Stability Factor (SSF) of 1.83, offering maximum rollover protection. Safety equipment includes Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, speed limit assist, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, active emergency braking, lane change assist, rear cross alert, and blind spot detection. Additional safety features include front and side airbags, electronic stability control, and an electronic differential lock.
