Virat Kohli's brother Vikas Kohli has dismissed the reports that the star India cricketer has handed him General Power of Attorney (GPA) for his property at the Wazirabad Tehsil office in Gurugram on October 14.

Kohli currently is with the Indian cricket team in Australia preparing for the 3-match ODI series which begins on Sunday (October 19). A video of the cricketer went viral where he was seen leaving an office like building which reportedly was believed to be the Wazirabad Tehsil office in Gurugram. The video sparked the rumours of Kohli handing over the General Power of Attorney (GPA) for his property in Gurgaon to his brother.

What is General Power of Attorney?

A General Power of Attorney is a legal document that enables a person (referred to as the principal) to give another person (referred to as the agent) the ability to manage their finances or legal affairs. This include managing real estate, making agreements, and carrying out financial transactions.

However, property ownership cannot be transferred by a GPA; a registered sale deed is necessary for that. When they are based overseas, many celebrities, athletes, and NRIs use GPAs to make it easier to manage their assets in India, according to legal experts.
