Rishabh Pant’s tour of England came to an early and painful end, but the Indian wicketkeeper-batter has found a light-hearted way to keep himself entertained during recovery. Pant sustained a foot injury while batting in the fourth Test at Old Trafford, breaking his left foot after missing a reverse sweep against Chris Woakes, with the ball striking his boot. The setback is expected to keep him out of action for a minimum of six weeks.

Interestingly, Pant shared a clip on social media showing everyone how he is spending time away from cricket during recovery.

“Today I’m going to show you how to make pizza. Guys, bear with me. I think I’m gonna make vegetarian pizza. I love vegetarian. Yeah, with the truffle. I think two more pizzas and I’ll be sorted," Pant told the viewers in the video.

“It’s hot in here boys!" he quips. “The pizza is getting ready and I’m going to wait for it. Very hot in here, boys and girls."

While making the pizza, Pant also realised how his mother will react to him cooking an Italian dish.

“That’s the only thing I can do with broken foot right now. Baking pizza. Mother must be thinking ‘Ghar pe to kuch banaya nahi hai, yaha pizza bana raha hai (Hasn’t cooked anything at home and here he’s cooking pizza!)," he says.

Pant was enjoying a rich vein of form before an injury forced him out of the fifth and final Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, which concluded in a 2-2 draw. He had kicked off the series in style with back-to-back centuries at Leeds, becoming only the second wicketkeeper-batter in Test history to achieve the feat.
