BTS has done it again and achieved a new milestone. The group's first full-English single "Dynamite" has officially crossed 2 billion views on YouTube, cementing its place as one of the group’s most iconic tracks.

The record-breaking moment happened on September 4 at around 9:16 AM KST. By then, the upbeat, disco-pop anthem had ticked past the massive milestone, five years after its release on August 21, 2020. As of now, views stand at over 2,000,305,971. With this, Dynamite becomes the band’s first-ever music video to hit the 2 billion mark.

For fans, it’s not just about the number—it’s about what Dynamite represented. Dropped during the COVID-19 pandemic, the track was a mood-lifter worldwide, offering a burst of joy when people needed it most.

Listen to the track:

It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making BTS the first K-pop act ever to top the U.S. chart. The song held that spot for three weeks, sold over 265,000 downloads in its first week, and even scored the group their very first Grammy nomination.

The funky, bubblegum-pop single was penned by David Stewart and Jessica Agombar, and while it became a cultural juggernaut, the band has admitted they weren’t initially big fans. “Here’s the thing with Dynamite, it was never the song that the members favoured,” BTS’ eldest member said in a candid Netflix interview. Still, it was the right track at the right time.

Now, with all seven members wrapping up their military service, BTS is looking ahead. The group has confirmed a brand-new album slated for the first half of 2026, followed by what promises to be a massive world tour.

From sparking joy in living rooms during lockdowns to racking up billions of clicks, Dynamite isn’t just a song anymore, it’s BTS history.
