In an exciting Eliminator match played in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, Rajasthan Royals defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru by a margin of four wickets.

Virat Kohli exhibited a mix of disappointment and frustration after RCB’s loss to Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2024 Eliminator. His expressions, captured in close-up shots, revealed the depth of his emotions, showing the strain and intensity of the moment. Meanwhile, it was a poignant farewell for Dinesh Karthik as he took his last walk off the field, with the RCB team bidding him a heartfelt goodbye as he hung up his boots after the match.

Virat too hugged Dinesh after the match and bid adieu with a heavy heart.

Rajasthan Royals edged out Royal Challengers Bengaluru by four wickets in a thrilling Eliminator match held in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. Chasing a target of 173 runs, RR completed their innings in 19 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal led the scoreboard with 45 runs, while Riyan Parag contributed a vital 36 runs.

Earlier, RCB, having opted to bat first, put up a total of 172 for 8. Rajat Patidar scored a brisk 34 off 22 balls, and Virat Kohli, in fine form, added 33 off 24 balls. Veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin stood out with impressive bowling figures of 2 for 19 in his four-over spell.

RR’s decision to bowl first paid off as their bowlers effectively contained RCB to a moderate total on a pitch where dew would later aid the chasing team. Despite the challenge, RCB’s captain Faf du Plessis felt they were 20 runs short of a competitive score, especially considering the conditions during RR’s chase.

The match unfolded in two distinct phases. RCB, riding a wave of six consecutive wins, faced an RR side struggling with five winless games. However, the unpredictability of T20 cricket played out as RR successfully chased down the target with an over to spare, despite some tense moments.

With this victory, RR advanced to Qualifier 2 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Chennai. For RCB, another season ended without a trophy, yet it will be remembered fondly for the team’s remarkable performances and the emotional farewell to Dinesh Karthik.

This match, filled with high stakes and raw emotions, will be etched in the memories of cricket fans and players alike.
