Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) managed to secure a spot in the playoffs of the 2024 Indian Premier League by defeating the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 27 runs. This victory was a significant achievement as it knocked out the defending champions, CSK, out of the tournament.

RCB scored a total of 218 runs, with standout performances from Faf du Plessis, who scored a half-century, and Virat Kohli, who also made a significant contribution at the top of the order. In response, CSK managed to score only 191 runs for the loss of seven wickets. This win not only secured RCB the fourth spot in the playoffs but also marked their sixth consecutive win. Former skipper Virat Kohli was visibly emotional, shedding tears of joy after the victory.
