-- The advancement of the southwest monsoon saw several parts of Gujarat receiving heavy rainfall on Monday, with more showers expected over the next three days, officials said.
-- In the 36-hour period ending at 6 pm, Umargam taluka in Valsad received a massive 262 millimetres of rain; low-lying areas, roads, and underpasses in Nadiad, Morbi, Umargam, and Vapi towns saw knee-deep waterlogging that affected traffic movement.
-- In its forecast issued during the day, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted 'heavy to very heavy rain' in isolated places in Navsari and Valsad in south Gujarat on Tuesday.
-- "The southwest monsoon has advanced into more parts of Gujarat and conditions are favourable for it to further advance during the next two days. Heavy rain could occur in isolated places in Arvalli, Mahisagar, Dahod, Surat, Tapi, Junagadh, and Gir Somnath on Tuesday," the IMD forecast said.
-- On Wednesday and Thursday, the IMD said 'heavy rain' may occur at isolated places in Navsari, Valsad, Rajkot, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Bharuch, and Surat.
Muggy weather conditions prevailed in Delhi on Monday even as some parts of the national capital received rains, keeping the mercury in check.
There was a cloud cover over Delhi throughout the day with Safdarjung observatory recording a high of 33.2 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season's average, the weather office said.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 25.4 degrees Celsius, three degrees below normal.
-- Work on desilting of drains in Delhi is "nearly complete" and other potential waterlogging spots are being monitored using CCTV cameras, officials said on Monday.Authorities are rushing to complete the job as the monsoon arrived in the national capital on Sunday, two days before its scheduled onset.
-- Drains along smaller roads are maintained by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and those along wider roads are done by the Public Works Department here. "Our work on desilting is nearly complete," a senior MCD official said.
-- Char Dham Yatra has been stopped as a precautionary measure due to inclement weather conditions en route to Badrinath and Kedarnath, officials informed on June 26.
-- Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said: “The government has stopped the Char Dham Yatra due to bad weather conditions en route. Snowfall, rains, and landslides have occurred at various places and traffic has been disrupted because of the same.”
-- Meanwhile, IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Dehradun and Tehri Garhwal over the next 24 hours.
The India Meteorological Department on Monday issued an orange alert warning heavy to very heavy and extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places in Madhya Pradesh till Tuesday morning even as showers continue to lash several areas in the state.
As per IMD, heavy (64.5 mm to 115.5 mm) to very heavy (115.6 mm to 204.4 mm) rainfall with extremely heavy rain (more than 204.5 mm) and thunderstorm accompanied by lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places in east Madhya Pradesh.

-- Meanwhile, the Mandi-Kullu Highway, which was blocked due to a landslide near 7 Mile in Mandi has been opened after almost 20 hours.
-- Sakini Kapoor, SHO, Mandi, said: “The single-lane road of the highway has been opened for traffic movement. I appeal to people to cooperate. The road is clear till Manali.”
- The spell of light to moderate showers that lashed most parts of Jharkhand since Sunday helped bring down the rain deficit to 64 per cent, a weather official said.
- According to Jharkhand's rainfall data, the state received 54.4mm of rainfall from June 1 to June 26 against the normal rainfall of 149.8mm during the period.
