Shah Rukh Khan on Tuesday visited the Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Jammu ahead of the release of his film, "Dunki".

The superstar had visited the Vaishno Devi shrine in August and December last year, ahead of the release of "Jawan" as well as "Pathaan" respectively.
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film features stellar performances by Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, and Vicky Kaushal alongside Shah Rukh Khan. While describing the film, the superstar told a fan on X that it's a "little like life itself".
The Christmas season release is Khan's third release of the year following the massive success of "Pathaan" and "Jawan".
"Dunki is... very beautiful. A little like life itself," Shah Rukh Khan, 58, had said. He released the teaser on his birthday in November.
The film will hit theatres on December 21. The release date puts "Dunki" in direct competition with Prashant Neel's 'Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire,' starring Prabhas in the lead role.
Khan had also revealed the meaning behind the film's title. During an interview at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia in December 2022, he disclosed, "In English, my film would be called Donkey, it is Donkey. But the way a part of the country pronounces donkey in India, it is ‘dunki’. The Punjabis say it (donkey) like dunki…"
