There was a festive mood outside Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's house "Mannat" in the early hours of Thursday morning as fans gathered to celebrate the actor's 58th birthday. But the celebrations turned sour for 30 of the actor's fans who lost their mobile phones outside his house, an Indian Express report said.
23-year-old Arbaz Khan who was at Bandra Bandstand, situated close to the actor's house, lost his phone that was in his pocket. Later he went around asking others and discovered that more phones had been stolen.
Arbaz and 15 others-some of whom had come from cities such as Pune and Kolhapur-went to the local police station and registered a First Information Report (FIR), on the incident.
24-year-old businessman Nikhil Bhatt from Mumbai's Lower Parel area also filed a complaint and a second FIR was registered on the incident. Police investigation to find the stolen phones is ongoing.
This is not the first time that fans have lost their phones outside the actor's house during his birthday celebrations. 13 fans lost their phones outside "Mannat" in 2017 and five years later, in 2022, 11 phones were stolen outside the superstar's residence.
Khan had tweeted on Thursday, thanking his supporters who had turned up in large numbers outside his house to celebrate his birthday.
It’s unbelievable that so many of u come & wish me late at night. I am but a mere actor. Nothing makes me happier, than, the fact that I can entertain u a bit. I live in a dream of your love. Thank u for allowing me to entertain you all. C u in the morning…on the screen & off it— Shah Rukh Khan (@iamsrk) November 1, 2023
