Shah Rukh Khan is a college dropout

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been ruling the entertainment industry for over three decades now. He has starred in several blockbusters and has been dubbed as ‘King Khan’ of the Bollywood. However, not many known that he is a college dropout.

A video of SRK has recently resurfaced on social media in which he talked about dropping out of the prestigious Jamia Millia Islamia college in Delhi.

Shah Rukh Khan openly discussed his early TV career, which ultimately conflicted with his education, in an old interview with NDTV while promoting Don 2.

When Shah Rukh Khan was filming for his first TV show Fauji, he also had trouble keeping up his attendance at Jamia. A few days prior to his written exam, Shah Rukh had a transformative experience with his principal.

The actor admitted, “I had started working in a television serial, Fauji, I had some trouble in attendance, which still remains in my film shooting, that I have some trouble in attendance. And, I was giving my written exam. I had done my practicals for the second year.”

However, Shah Rukh made it clear that he doesn’t appreciate leaving the studies midway and noted, “This is the foolishness of childhood. I was ill-mannered and disgusting.”

He recalled, “I was studying in the library. The exam was on Monday. And, I was studying on Saturday. And, my principal came and said, You know, if I had it in my hands, I would not let you take this exam.”

“I was ill-mannered. I also would not like to give this exam. And, I walked off. Then, my mom took me to his house. And, I apologised to him because my mother had taken me like this. I said,

Apologise to him. So, I went and said sorry and all. And, he said, No, I was just saying it,” he continued recalling.

SRK added, “You don't have to get so egotistic about it. But, by then, it was Sunday. And, I had not studied. So, I told my mom, I will not study.”

However, Shah Rukh regretted his step and noted, “I wish I had the degree. I really miss it. I would tell everyone that please do not leave your studies ever, because if I had studied, believe me, I would be such a big superstar."
