Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is in Kolkata to attend the sports event and has finally met the legendary Argentine football legend Lionel Messi. Several photos and videos from the viral moment are going viral on social media.

The sports and pop culture crossover has broken the internet. Shah Rukh is seen shaking hands with Messi and posing for the photos. The global icons were also seen involved in a conversation. The football legend also met SRK’s son AbRam.

The event wasn't just any star meeting. Messi's highly anticipated GOAT Tour of India 2025 will begin in Kolkata with a jam-packed schedule of public appearances and carefully planned events during a brief, intense span.

The simulated installation of a 70-foot monument of Messi, a spectacle created for scale, optics, and the kind of pomp Indian football never receives at this level, was a big focal point on Day 1.

The event is taking place at Salt Lake Stadium on December 13. During his visit, the football player will also be honoured at a number of events. Messi has inaugurated what the organisers have called the largest statue of himself in the world as part of the tour.

Previously, Shah Rukh created a buzz among the fans after he teased his meeting with Messi. He took to his X, formerly known as Twitter, to tease the upcoming moment on Thursday.

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for the highly anticipated action thriller, King, which also stars Suhana Khan in the lead. The film also features Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan and others in the key roles. King is slated for a 2026 release.
