Adipurush might have released almost a month ago but it is still making headlines. The film directed by Om Raut was loosely adapted from Ramayana and was slammed by the masses. According to viewers, the dialogues were “cringeworthy” and hurt the sentiments of audiences. Now, the dialogue writer of the film, Manij Muntashir, has issued an apology for the same.
Muntashir was receiving threats, hate messages and was being trolled all over social media. On July 8, he took to Twitter to apologise to the masses. “I accept people’s emotions have been hurt by Adipurush. With folded hands, I extend my unconditional apologies,” he wrote in a post on Twitter that has gone viral online.
“May Prabhu Bajrang Bali keep us united and grant us strength to serve our sacred Sanatan and our great nation,” Muntashir continued.

Adipurush released on June 16 in cinemas across India in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. The film starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan was panned by the viewers for its dialogues, poor VFX and twisting history. The film had a bumper opening at the box office for the first three days but numbers gradually started declining.
Meanwhile, earlier in a long post on Twitter, Muntashir had called out insensitive trolls and defended the dialogues. "It is possible that I might have written something different from your imagination for 3 minutes of the 3-hour-long film," he wrote in Hindi. "But, why was everyone so quick to label me as a 'Sanatan-drohi'?" he continued.
