Actor Deepika Padukone hinted at wanting to start a family with husband Ranveer Singh, saying they hope to inculcate the values of their upbringing into their children.
In an interview with Vogue Singapore, Padukone said, “Ranveer and I love children. We look forward to the day when we will start our own family.”
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, one of the most powerful Bollywood couples, got married in a dreamy setting in Italy's Lake Como in 2018.
“When I meet the people I have grown up with—my aunts, uncles, family friends—they always mention how I haven’t changed one bit. That says a lot about our upbringing.”
“In this industry, it’s easy to get carried away by fame and money. But no one treats me like a celebrity at home. I am a daughter and a sister first. I don’t want that to change. My family keeps me grounded and Ranveer and I hope to inculcate the same values in our children,” said Padukone who celebrates her 38th birthday on January 4.
The couple had created waves last October after they appeared on hit talk show "Koffee with Karan", opening up about their how they met, their marriage, work and other aspects of life. On the show, an intimate glimpse into their fairy-tale wedding was aired for the first time.
Alia Bhatt, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Ileana D'cruz and Bipasha Basu are among the Bollywood actors who have become parents in recent years.
On the work front, Padukone will be seen in action film “Fighter” alongside Hrithik Roshan, and in “Kalki 2898 AD”, a Telugu-Hindi bilingual science fiction film, in which she stars with Prabhas.
