A woman in Turkey has miraculously survived being hit by a train. The accident occurred while she was taking pictures near the train tracks with friends.

In footage that has been widely circulated online, the woman was seen in the Belemedik Nature Park of Turkey with her group of friends. Like others in the group, the unnamed woman also stuck her arm out to make a thumbs up sign while photos were being taken.

Unfortunately, a train raced by at that moment, striking her hand.

The video shows her yanking her hand back in pain as the train barrels on. The video ends abruptly as her friends rush to examine her injuries.

Local reports suggest the woman was taken to a hospital and treated for her injuries. She was discharged after receiving treatment, having avoided more serious injuries.

Mustafa Cay, the mayor of Pozanti, urged tourists to be more careful and aware of their surroundings while clicking pictures. Such calls for greater caution have been made again and again by authorities across the world.

In India, three teenagers were run over by a train while taking selifes in Karnataka in October 2017. More recently, two teenagers lost their lives in a similar tragic incident in Tamil Nadu.
