An influencer from Bengaluru initiated a movement on the streets of the city to bring Taylor Swift to India. A video of the same was shared on Instagram by a user named Cassy and featured him and fellow “Swifties” (a name given to Taylor Swift fans) blocking the streets while dancing and singing to the American singer-songwriter’s songs. However, social media users were not very impressed and slammed the influencer for causing a commotion.

The now-viral video showed how Cassy and other “Swifties” blocked a road for the movement. The police had to intervene due to the obstruction caused by the crowd. However, the mob moved to another location that drew other people at the scene as well.

The fans held posters for the singer to come to India and continued to sing and dance without realising about the block that ‘Swifties Assemble’ movement was causing.

The video amassed over eight lakh views and triggered an array of furious reactions from netizens. Some people also claimed that they were stuck in a traffic jam due to the influencer’s movement.

“Most cringe youths of India,” a user wrote. Another user commented, “Hate from Hyderabad.”

“My jobless friends on a fine Monday morning,” a third user remarked. “Unemployment on its peak,” a fourth person quipped.

“The pride and superiority you guys feel from having an unhealthy lifestyle for a mere musician to block roads and places to annoy people to have a short term gratification that will lead to long term detriments. You Sir's/Ma'am's are entitled spoilt brats,” another person added.
