Honor Pad 9 goes on sale in India, lands in the sub Rs 25,000 segment

At 555 gm, the Honor Pad 9 is one of the lightest tabs with a 12.1-inch display. It’s also very thin – 6.96 mm.

We had earlier reported that the Honor Pad 9 is all set to go on sale in India in March 2024. Honor unveiled the Honor Pad 9 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) along with the Honor Magic 6 Pro smartphone that flaunted a 6.8-inch display and an 180MP periscope telephoto camera. The brand kept its date. The device has gone on sale on March 28, 2024. Honor has priced the device at Rs 24,999 (an effective price of Rs 22,999 with a discount of Rs 2,000. Honor has also bundled a free Bluetooth Keyboard) and it comes loaded with features for its asking price:

Light, thin, fast-charging: at 555 gm it’s one of the lightest tabs with a 12.1-inch display. It’s also very thin – 6.96 mm. This despite a massive 8300 mAh battery with support for 35W of fast charging. Honor has stretched the screen: body ratio to 88 percent with minimal bezels.

Binge appeal: with a peak brightness of 500 nits and a contrast ratio of 1500:1, users can enjoy clear and bright visuals even in various lighting conditions. Honor is playing up the immersive 12.1-inch, 2.5K (WQXA) LCD screen, with a 120Hz refresh rate and features a 1.07 billion colour gamut.

Boom box: the Honor Pad 9 features eight speakers equipped with a large sound cavity. Enhanced by Histen sound effects, the tab delivers rich and dynamic sound for an enhanced multimedia experience and is a great add-on for your gaming sessions.

Camera set-up: you get an 8 MP front camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and fixed focus, for detailed selfies. The Honor Pad 9 also houses a 13 MP rear camera with an aperture of f/2.0 and auto-focus capabilities for sharp images and videos.

Under the hood: at its heart is a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 4nm chipset. It includes four Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz, providing a balance between power efficiency and high-performance computing. The device comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of Internal storage in addition to 8GB of Virtual RAM. The device features a robust 8300mAh battery.
