The fine on SpiceJet and Air India has been levied for failing to train their pilots sufficiently to handle CAT III operations, whereas, IndiGo has been penalised on five counts including the tarmac incident.

On May 2, Domestic budget carrier Go First announced that it has filed an application for voluntary insolvency resolution proceedings before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Delhi.
The airline had earlier stopped the sale of all flights on May 3 and 4, a decision that will impact 55,000-60,000 passengers. The subsequent insolvency filing with the NCLT is expected to impact a far higher number of passengers.

SpiceJet was accused by a passenger of "locking them up" in the aerobridge and denying water. The airline, before the DGCA's notice, said the flight was delayed due to weather disruption, and "water was served to passengers who were on the lower floor near the aircraft door and aerobridge passage".
Speaking about the Paris-New Delhi Air India flight incidents, the DGCA said: "Prima facie it emerges that provisions related to the handling of unruly passengers as per DGCA CAR Section -3, Series-M, Part-VI have not been complied with", and added that the “response of the airline has been lackadaisical and delayed”.
The advisory comes amid the criticism drawn by Air India, after it was reported that a drunk passenger on its New York-Delhi flight last month had urinated on a woman onboard.
The female passenger initially requested that action be taken against the offender upon arrival. However subsequently, she rescinded her request after the two parties appeared to have sorted the matter out between them, Air India told DGCA.
"India has done extremely well and our scores will see a substantial improvement putting us in the company of nations with best safety standards and oversight systems," the DGCA said.
"Evidence of engine oil was found in engine bleed-off valve, which had led to the oil entering the aircraft air-conditioning system resulting in smoke in the cabin," DGCA said, citing its preliminary investigation.

The civil aviation regulator released the order on SpiceJet after multiple incidents were reported between Apr 1 and July 5.
DGCA has said that an airline cannot refuse the boarding of any person on the basis of disability and/or reduced mobility.
IndiGo, which reportedly operates around 1,600 flights daily, was hit by the non-availability of crew members, resulting in the delayed departure of 900 flights.
This will allow the airline to resume commercial flight operations.
A SpiceJet spokesperson said the SpiceJet Boeing 737 was chartered by a travel agent in Madurai on May 23 for a group of passengers for a joy ride post their wedding and not for their wedding per se.
The occupancy rate at SpiceJet was 70.8 percent in April, while that of IndiGo, Vistara, GoAir, Air India, and AirAsia India were 58.7 percent, 54.6 percent, 65.7 percent, 52 percent, and 64 percent, respectively, according to the DGCA.
The passenger flights on select-international routes, operating under the air travel bubble arrangement, will continue, the aviation regulator said.
