A cofferdam, which is a part of the Malana-I Hydropower Project in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district, collapsed after flash floods were triggered following incessant rainfall in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district.
A horrific video of the incident that surfaced online showed a truck slipping down a muddy area on the dam site and then being swept away with the flood water. The video has caused panic amongst people, reports have said.
The heavy rainfall in the area led to an upsurge in water levels that ultimately caused the vehicles and machinery to be swept away. A hydra crane, a dumper truck, a rock breaker and a camper or car got carried away by flood waters after the dam collapsed.

Reports said that no casualties were reported in the incident. However, this is not the first incident that the recet rainfall has caused as flash floods continue to be triggered in the area. Reports have said that there has been a significant rise in the water level of the Parvati River, which merges with the Beas River near Bhuntar, which is approximately 10 kilometres south of Kullu.
Recently, a massive landslide had taken place on the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway near the Pandoh Dam in Manali. The landslide had caused massive traffic disruptions in the area.
Reports said that due to the landslides, over 50 meters of the highway had caved in. The landslide was reportedly triggered by continuous rainfall.
