Mahayuti to make clean sweeps in Mumbai, Konkan in Maharashtra election: Piyush Goyal

"Once again, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be leading from the front," said the Union Minister when asked about his projections for the upcoming state elections.

Mumbai and Konkan assembly constituencies would see clean sweeps for the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance n the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections, said Piyush Goyal on Thursday at the CNBC-TV18 Global Leadership Summit (GLS) 2024.

"Once again, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be leading from the front," said the Union Minister when asked about his projections for the upcoming state elections.

Goyal shared that he recently toured the Marathwada region, which used to be a citadel of Congress, but there are "winds of change". Speaking about if Eknath Shinde will be elected as as the Chief Minister, Goyal said that the decision will be taken at the right time. "The decision on the Chief Minister will be made amicably with our alliance partners after the election," he said.

Taking a dig at Congress, Goyal said that there are states such as Himachal and Karnataka that have rolled out schemes without any preparations. "Unlike some khatakhat schemes, we do real work," Goyal said.

The Global Leadership Summit (GLS), being held at the Jio Convention Centre in BKC, Mumbai, this year, is set to bring together a distinguished group of top executives, international leaders, policymakers, and business moguls. The summit will focus on discussions surrounding future business strategies, economic growth, and innovation.
