Indian badminton icon Pusarla Venkata Sindhu, widely known as PV Sindhu, tied the knot with Venkata Datta Sai in a grand and opulent wedding that took place at Raffles Udaipur. Nestled on a 21-acre private island in Rajasthan, the luxurious resort served as the perfect backdrop for the couple’s three-day celebration, filled with tradition, grandeur, and impeccable fashion.
The festivities, which unfolded over the past weekend, included a series of culturally rich and visually stunning events: a lively sangeet, a traditional haldi, a pellikuthuru ceremony, a royal-themed mehendi, and a grand wedding ceremony. Each event featured its own distinct décor, color palettes, and thematic attire, reflecting the diversity and vibrancy of Indian wedding traditions.
The grand wedding look:
The wedding day began with an intimate Telugu ceremony where the bride, PV Sindhu, donned a masterpiece by celebrated designer Manish Malhotra. From his illustrious Evara collection, Sindhu was adorned in a gold handwoven tissue saree, intricately embroidered with Zari and Zardosi detailing. Her look was elevated with Malhotra’s signature long personalised veil’, exuding timeless elegance.
To complement her regal ensemble, Sindhu chose jewels from Malhotra’s Imperial Heirloom collection. Featuring uncut diamonds, Zambian emeralds, and a traditional kamarbandh, the jewelry added a touch of heritage and luxury to her bridal attire. The groom, Venkata Datta Sai, mirrored his bride’s sophistication in a classic ensemble, paired with bespoke menswear jewellery by the designer, creating a seamless aesthetic harmony.
A glamorous green sangeet:
For the vibrant sangeet night, PV Sindhu turned heads in a stunning green gown by the designer duo Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. The ensemble, adorned with intricate self-on-self embroidery, bugle beads, and crystals, was paired with a dramatic cape, making her the epitome of modern glamour.
Venkata Datta Sai complemented her look in an ensemble by AJSK MAN, featuring vintage-inspired geometric patterns and classic Salli embroidery. His outfit, both regal and understated, exemplified the designers’ mastery of timeless craftsmanship.
Ivory shines bright for Haldi:
Sindhu chose Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla’s ‘Geo Floral’ collection for the haldi ceremony. The contemporary ivory and beige ensemble sparkled with mirror work, radiating effortless elegance. With its fusion of modern and traditional elements, the outfit captured the essence of a modern bride. Venkata Datta Sai also picked up an ivory Jaali-Mirror kurta from AJSK’s Mard collection. The meticulously embroidered garment, featuring Resham and mirror work, added a touch of masculine glamour to the joyous occasion.
A royal mehendi:
The royal-themed mehendi showcased the couple’s deep connection to tradition, with a rich color palette and regal décor. Sindhu and Venkata donned vibrant ensembles reflecting the grandeur of the event, blending their personal styles with cultural significance.
