Indian badminton star PV Sindhu joined the banter after India won the Asia Cup for a record ninth time, beating Pakistan in the final in Dubai on Sunday (September 28). Sindhu posted pictures of Jasprit Bumrah celebrating the wicket of Pakistan cricketer Haris Rauf.

Bumrah rattled Rauf’s stumps and celebrated with a cheeky flying jet gesture, a move the Pakistan cricketer had made the last time the two arch-rivals collided. Rauf was even fined for his '6-0' and jet gestures.

Here is the picture PV Sindhu posted:

The celebration has kept Rauf in the spotlight recently, as he had performed the same gesture to taunt Indian supporters during the Super Four clash between India and Pakistan, a match Men in Blue won comfortably by 6 wickets. His act was criticized as provocative and was said to allude to Pakistan’s earlier claims of shooting down Indian fighter jets during Operation Sindoor.

On Sunday, the Indian cricket team, fresh off their Asia Cup triumph, declined to receive the winner’s trophy from ACC chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who also serves as PCB president.

During the presentation ceremony, Naqvi waited on stage while the Indian players stood around 15 yards away, choosing not to move forward. The delay in proceedings quickly became noticeable.

PTI sources revealed that the Indian team management had inquired about who would be handing over the trophy, and upon realizing it was Naqvi, the ACC officials were forced into a brief discussion, aware that the champions were unwilling to accept the trophy from him.
